First class sports rehabilitation starts with
accurate assessment & diagnosis

How we assess your injury

We’re known for the accuracy of our assessments and diagnoses. We use a combination of observation, testing, range of movement tools and hands-on appraisal to assess the full breadth of anatomical and biomechanical factors impacting your body. Once we have a diagnosis and a solid understanding of your body, we create a personalised plan for your rehab.

Your rehab plan is designed with your specific sport in mind and is adjusted as you progress, which also ensures you remain challenged and interested.

If further examination is necessary, we can facilitate medical imaging or onwards referrals to specialists.

What to expect from sports rehab

Sports injury rehab is a planned programme of treatment and self-care for people with a sporting injury. We focus on reducing pain and ensuring good progression while preventing over-training and fostering a sustained recovery.

Sports injury rehab may involve one treatment or a number of approaches such as manual therapy (hands-on), exercise prescription, sports taping, shockwave therapy, BFRT, acupuncture or NMES, depending on your specific needs. It is very likely to involve targeted gym work at some point.

Our sports physios also all include advice on self-management and prevention of future injuries.

Sports injuries treated by experienced physios

Sports activities put extra demands on the body, which can lead to common sports injuries such as tendon related issues, strains and sprains, overuse injuries, fractures and tears. Unfortunately, these injuries can disrupt your training schedule and leave you sidelined and fed up.

Our sports injury rehabilitation programmes are designed to promote healing, restore optimal function and get you back to the sport you love as quickly as possible, whatever your injury.

Thank you Ryan for all of your expertise, I don't think that I would have recovered this quickly without your guidance and knowledge.

The best there is. Nick Allen is my physio and he excels in every area. There is nothing he doesn't know about supporting recovery. I snapped a leg muscle and came to Nick hobbling and worried I'd never play sports again. Nick has taken me on a journey of recovery and I'm now at a stage where I'm running and enjoying my life again. Exercises I've been given have been adapted to my needs. The level of detail Nick can go into about my injury, why I couldn't do certain activities, how my muscles worked and through it all, has taught me alot about how my body works. His experience performing physio in multiple sports and at all levels also gives him a great ability to know how hard he can push my recovery. Physix and Nick will be the people I use in the long run. I can't recommend Physix and Nick highly enough.

I saw Nick after having a total hip replacement. My aim was to get my strength back, walk correctly and build muscle. The care received was excellent. Nick is a great personable guy. He designed a personal programme after an initial assessment to align with my goals. i have made a full recovery and now walk properly and continue to build muscle and fitness. I would highly recommend Nick for all things physio, especially rehabilitation.

From the outset my experiences with the team at Physix have been stellar. Nick quickly identified exactly what was needed to get my knee back into full operation again, and allow me to compete at my beloved squash. Throughout our sessions his knowledge and patient approach were second to none, and he constantly encouraged me to challenge myself further. As a result of his tailored methods and insights, my healing has not only been rapid but the whole experience has inspired me to get fit and strengthen the rest of my body too. As a result I feel 20 years younger in just a matter of months and my life has completely changed. I can’t recommend Physix highly enough.

First time with Louise, who I saw with a shoulder injury. She made me feel at ease and went into a lot of detail and certainly put across she knew what she was talking about. She spent the time listening to me without me feeling like I was being rushed. Excellent result and no hesitation in recommending her.

I would heavily recommend Nick to anyone. Nick helped me diagnose a problem that was stopping me running. He helped me navigate which medical procedure would be best and was ready to support recovery at the right time. There were two major things that I loved about Nick’s style. The first was that he makes it measurable so you can see progress. The second is that he tailors the recovery work to your favourite type of exercise so it doesn’t just feel like more stretches. I rapidly recovered from an operation with his support and was able to run more than I ever had. I was even able to fulfil my dream and run my first marathon with Nick’s advice. Thanks Nick.
